Ford Motor Company introduces the wheat straw-reinforced plastic car part.
This is the first applied car part resulting from the Ontario BioCar Initiative, a research project funded jointly between the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation, private sector partners and four universities: University of Guelph, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo and University of Windsor.
The wheat straw-reinforced plastic was developed in collaboration between BioCar researcher Leonardo Simon (University of Waterloo), car part supplier A. Schulman and Ford Motor Company.
